Business Development Manager- Oman
Primary Role Focus
Packers Plus is looking for a Business Development Manager to grow and develop its market share in Oman, where the candidate will oversee all aspects of the business operations. This dynamic position requires a unique blend of technical expertise, business acumen, and innovation leadership. Reports to the Middle East General Manager.
Key Tasks and Responsibilities
- Lead tendering activities for completions and liner hangers, ensuring timely delivery and adherence to quality and compliance standards.
- Manage opportunities within the assigned territory, conducting daily face-to-face customer engagements to enhance technology awareness. Align efforts to meet all prequalification and tendering criteria required by customers in Oman, ensuring compatibility with Packers Plus product offerings.
- Drive strategic initiatives and deliver advanced Packers Plus solutions to optimize well completion processes.
- Identify and develop new opportunities with potential customers. Execute sales processes including pricing, tendering, contract negotiation, and partnership agreements with contracting companies.
- Forecast and gather information on technology gaps and challenges related to well completions and liner hangers. Work within the product portfolio to propose suitable solutions.
- Present solutions through bids, networking, and discussions, ensuring effective communication and engagement.
- Ensure Packers Plus operations comply with local legislation and ethical standards.
- Identify and mitigate risks by taking proactive measures, reporting competitive threats, and monitoring changes in customer behaviors or policies.
- Manage customer and vendor negotiations to achieve favorable agreements.
- Cultivate and build a strong network within the industry,
- Provide regular local market updates and business reviews.
Position Requirements
Experience and Skills
- Collaborate with project teams to identify opportunities and mitigate potential risks.
- Possess in-depth knowledge in business, operations, financial, and sales management.
- Have significant industry experience in the assigned territory.
- Exhibit strong analytical and decision-making skills.
- Have a minimum of 10 years' experience in achieving sales targets and managing customer relationships in Oman.
- Maintain contacts with National Oil Companies (NOCs) and International Oil Companies (IOCs) operating in Oman.
Education and Training
- Engineering degree, MBA or equivalent.
- Omani Professional Engineering Association membership is an asset.
- Preferably bi-lingual (Arabic / English Speaker).
